About The MOAAH Mission
The Michelle Obama Academy of Arts & Humanities, MOAAH not only focuses on arts, culture, and education, but also pushes programs for empowerment, determination, and leadership, diversity and inclusion; addressing domestic violence of African American girls and young women; and preventing rape and sexual assault. The organization is organized exclusively for the purposes pursuant to section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Mission Statement is based on our first African American FLOTUS, Michelle Obama’s philosophy: “We are beautiful; yes, we are smart; yes, we are fearless. We deserve it, and now we need to believe it.” Our Motto: “Be Fearless.”

Our Goal
Competence & Aptitude
Our goal: Expanding Participation for Tomorrow’s Underrepresented Minority STEAM leaders, College-to-Career Engagement by Connecting HBCU E, STEAM Scholars with Corporate Supporters, Committed to Helping young Minority Collegiate Women and Men Succeed in STEAM Education and Careers, and ensuring that 100% minority high school students, and students of color commit to attending an accredited Historically Black College or University of their choice and successfully graduate with a B.A., or B.S. degree in four years.


We Are Committed To:
The Educational Equity of:
underprivileged graduating high school seniors and college aged students, who live in the most challenging neighborhoods in the United States. More specifically, African – American students from poor families, students of color, and those from low -income families making up much of that growth. • At -risk students who aspire to pursue a higher education in spite of their harsh challenges. • helping break the cycle of poverty by equipping our student participants with the necessary resources that will help them succeed.

Social & Racial Justice
whose mission includes the following attributes:
Programs that focus on education to cultivate anti -racism. • Community organizing and movement building. • Creative community engagement to promote equity, access, participation, and rights, including through the performing arts. • Programs that foster and build leadership for people of color within for profit and nonprofit organizations .
Finally, our efforts are generally jointly owned and delivered by local and, or national business initiatives that act as boosters to accelerate HBCU competitiveness.
